Free Domain Registration
Upon signing with Summittech.com for a hosting plan, we will expedite your domain name transfer or registration to InterNIC. If you are registering a new domain name, InterNIC will invoice you $70 3 to 6 weeks after the domain is registered. The cost is $70 for the first two years, and currently $35 per year after the initial 2 years.

Questions about InterNIC's billing?
Invoicing and Payment Procedures should be referred to Registration Services. You can reach them by calling (703)742-4777 or email them at hostmaster@rs.internic.net.

How do I choose a domain name?

Go to http://www.internic.net to search the database of registered domain names using WHOIS. NOTE: When entering a name don't include 'www.' Type in as follows: summittech.com

The InterNIC Registration Services database contains ONLY non-military and non-US Government Domains and contacts.
Other associated whois servers:
American Registry for Internet Numbers - whois.arin.net
European IP Address Allocations - whois.ripe.net
Asia Pacific IP Address Allocations - whois.apnic.net
US Military - whois.nic.mil
US Government - whois.nic.gov

What is the most common problem I may encounter with my domain transfer?
Outdated information. It's very important to keep contact information (email address, company name, etc.) up to date. Outdated information will lead to an unsuccessful domain transfer. InterNIC has to email the contact person a verification notice of the requested transfer. Once they have emailed the contact person they don't do anything else with the transfer until they receive a reply. If the email is incorrect, InterNIC will never get a response and will be unable to propagate the domain name.

To check the information on your domain name go to http://www.internic.net and do a search of your domain name (i.e. summittech.com or cnn.com) with WHOIS. Once your domain name is found in the database you will be able to view all of the contact information.

To change any information or transfer your domain name, go to http://rs.internic.net/domain-info/modflow2.html#transfer_domain

CGI-BIN Directory
Each customer receives a CGI-BIN to place whatever CGI scripts needed. The most common name of a directory on a web server in which CGI programs are stored. The “bin” part of “cgi-bin” is a shorthand version of “binary”, because once upon a time, most programs were referred to as “binaries”.
